The Black Eagles got off to a flying start as they raced out to a 12-4 lead after four minutes on back-to-back 3-pointers by Newley and Engin Atsür. But then they went without a basket for the next two minutes and watched Darüşşafaka crawl to within 5 points, 14-9 at the 6:00 mark. Nevertheless, from that moment on, Fletcher got in the act and stretched the margin to 10 to build a 25-15 cushion for the Black and White after one.
After seeing Darüşşafaka Cooper Tires misfire most of their outside shots, Beşiktaş Cola Turka took full control of the game in the second and rode Mire Chatman’s fast-break points to open up a 19-point lead, 50-13, at the intermission.
The Eagles maintained their double-digit advantage in the third as the gap ballooned to 79-41 after there quarters of play. The Black and Whites turned to their bench players in the fourth en route to an impressive 26-point, 92-66 victory.
