With jumpers from all over the court, the visiting Black and White got off to a sizzling start and built a comfortable 21-10 cushion by end of first quarter. Thanks to a 7-0 run, the home side Karşıyaka got back into the game in the second before Birkan Batuk made layup to tie the score at 33 apiece. But a pair of free throws by Fletcher reestablished the Black and White’s lead, and Brad Newly knocked down a 3-pointer from behind the arch in the closing seconds to give Beşiktaş Cola Turka a 38-33 advantage at the half.
The host green and reds regrouped in the third as they charged back to pull ahead 43-42 on a Wesson bucket. They then used a 5-0 spurt to push their lead to nine points, 60-51, with 2 minutes remaining in the quarter. The Black and White responded with a late rally and managed to narrow the gap but still trailed, 60-57, entering the final stanza.
The fourth quarter was a tight affair right from the start with the lead changing hands several times. Nevertheless, a pair of late free throws put Pınar Karşıyaka in front, 79-77, with 24 seconds to go. The Eagles tried to respond with a last second 3-pointer, but it circled the rim and fell out, handing Beşiktaş Cola Turka a two-point loss.
